Johnson Brothers Game Birds was produced between 1951 and 1982, making it one of the longer-running specialist Johnson Brothers designs. The pattern features finely drawn game birds in natural countryside settings, including Partridge, Quail, Woodcock, Ruffed Grouse, Pheasant and Wild Turkey.
For customers looking to replace a particular plate, bowl or serving piece, Game Birds is a pattern where the individual bird design can be just as important as the shape. It was produced in both round and oval forms, with the range more limited than many full Johnson Brothers dinner services, so collectors often look for specific birds or piece shapes to complete a set or display grouping.
Some ovenware pieces were also produced, adding further interest to the range. As with many older discontinued Johnson Brothers patterns, availability can vary considerably by piece, shape and bird design, so it is worth checking our current stock if you are trying to complete, extend or carefully match an existing Game Birds set.
