Alfred Meakin

Alfred Meakin peut retracer ses racines jusqu'en 1875, date à laquelle elle a été créée par Alfred Meakin lui-même. Initialement commercialisé dans les poteries Royal Albert, Victoria et Highgate à Tunstall, il a connu de nombreux premiers succès. Malheureusement, ni Alfred, décédé en 1904, ni son fils et successeur, Alfred James, décédé en 1908, n'en virent beaucoup. L'oncle d'Alfred John, Robert Johnson, a acheté l'entreprise pour son fils Stuart qui a transféré les œuvres à Newfield Pottery en 1930. L'entreprise est restée dans la famille jusqu'en 1976, date à laquelle elle est devenue Myott-Meakin et a rapidement fait partie du groupe Churchill.
