See below for the latest discontinued china added to our website. Are your replacement china pieces amongst it?
This week’s new stock update brings together a lovely mixture of everyday replacement china, serving pieces, tea ware, giftware and a few rather nice collectable finds.
The main highlights this time include Johnson Bros Spring Medley, with several useful pieces added, Portmeirion Botanic Garden, always popular and always full of little variations, and a small Royal Worcester Worcester Herbs teapot, which is exactly the sort of piece that can be tricky to replace once it has disappeared from regular use.
There are also some good supporting arrivals, including Churchill Ports of Call Prague, Poole Pottery Dragonfly (Burgundy) and a scarce Denby Greenwheat mug.
- Aynsley "Wild Tudor" - Vase, 10.5"
- Cath Kidston "Daisy Rose Check" - Mug
- Churchill "Ports of Call - Prague" - Teapot, cream jug, tea cups and saucers
- Denby "Bakewell" - 1 pint jug
-
Denby "Greenwheat" - Mug
A small but worthwhile mention here, as Greenwheat mugs are not always easy to find. - Denby "Greenwich" - Earlier shape teapot, missing lid
- Denby "Reflex" - Mug, blue square around rim
- Denby "Unknown (06a)" - Mug
- Denby "Viceroy" - Craftsman mugs
- Denby "Whisper" - Cream jug, later Sherwood shape
- Johnson Bros "Fresh Fruit" - Plates and bowls, cups and saucers, milk jug and sugar bowl
-
Johnson Bros "Spring Medley" - Dinner plates, rimmed bowls and serving pieces
A strong Spring Medley update this week, including useful plates and bowls as well as serving pieces. - Laura Ashley "Pink Chrysanthemum" - Tea cup and saucer
- Marks & Spencer "Maxim" - Breakfast cups and saucers
- Poole Pottery "Blue Dolphin Glaze" - Medium dolphin
- Poole Pottery "Dragonfly (Burgundy)" - Tea plates and pasta bowls
- Poole Pottery "New England" - Dinner plate
-
Portmeirion "Botanic Garden" - Tea cups and sugar bowl
Botanic Garden remains one of those patterns where the exact flower, shape and piece can really matter. - Portmeirion "Dawn Chorus" - Teapot / tea cup, Tea for One combo
-
Royal Worcester "Worcester Herbs" - 1.25 pint teapot and milk jug
The small Worcester Herbs teapot is a particularly useful find, especially for anyone trying to keep a tea set complete. - Villeroy & Boch "New Wave" - Open rimmed serving dish
- Wedgwood "Alexandria" - Teapot
The Johnson Bros Spring Medley pieces are probably the standout tableware addition this week. Dinner plates and rimmed bowls are always useful, but the serving dish and lidded serving tureen make the update feel a little more complete. Those are the pieces that help a table look properly put together.
Portmeirion Botanic Garden also deserves a proper mention. It is still a hugely recognisable Portmeirion design, but after so many years of production, individual flowers, shapes and pieces can still be surprisingly specific. Tea cups and sugar bowls are exactly the sort of pieces customers often need when keeping an older set going.
The Royal Worcester Worcester Herbs teapot is another highlight. Smaller teapots are useful, attractive and often harder to replace than standard plates or bowls, especially when the piece is Made in England and part of a discontinued Royal Worcester range.
We have also added a good run of Johnson Bros Fresh Fruit and Churchill Ports of Call Prague pieces, along with a few single finds such as the Denby Greenwheat mug, the Poole Blue Dolphin Glaze dolphin and the Aynsley Wild Tudor vase.
All of these items come from the pre-loved market, so availability is always limited and can vary from week to week. If you see something you need, we would always recommend acting quickly.
