Denby "Homestead Brown"

Denby Homestead Brown
Denby Homestead Brown was first released in 1953, following the lifting of post war rationing which restricted the use of colour in the manufacture of pottery. While predominantly glazed in a deep glossy brown, the plates and interior of pieces appeared as a blue. Over the years this blue varied from a sky blue to lavender blue. Like it's green (Manor Green) and blue (Cottage Blue) cousins it was in production for a number of years resulting in a wide range of pieces being available with some variations in shape from time to time.
