Denby "Harlequin Lite"

Denby Harlequin Lite was introduced as a later development of the original Denby Harlequin range, which was first issued in 1992 as part of Denby’s Casual Tableware collection. While the original Harlequin design made extensive use of darker coloured glazes, the Lite version reinterprets the same colour palette in a softer and more restrained way.

The design retains the key Harlequin colours, including crimson, blue and green, but presents them against a white background and interior. This gives the range a brighter and more neutral overall appearance, making it easier to integrate into a wider variety of table settings.

By reducing the use of darker glazes on flatware, Harlequin Lite can also be less prone to showing visible signs of use over time, which can make it easier to find pieces in very good or excellent condition compared to the original Harlequin design.

The range was produced across a selection of everyday tableware items, allowing customers to build a coordinated set while still enjoying the flexibility of Denby’s mix-and-match colour approach.

As a discontinued Denby pattern, Harlequin Lite remains a practical option for those looking to replace or extend an existing set. Availability can vary depending on the item, as supply is dependent on what becomes available on the pre-loved market.
