This is a butter dish in the discontinued Denby Daybreak design. There are five variations of butter dish which were made by Denby Pottery in the Daybreak pattern. This is the one with a rounded lid with a knob as a handle.
There is also a version of the same rounded dish with a more traditional handle. A further two variations includes a flat box shaped butter dish, one with a handle and one without. And the other in a longer narrow base with a flat lid that sits on top.
