Replacement Wedgwood

Wedgwood
Wedgwood takes it's name from it's founder, Josiah Wedgwood, who in 1759 set himself up as an independent potter in the Burslem area of Staffordshire. One of the remarkable facts about this young potter is that he was responsible for three of the ceramic bodies which are still famous and familiar today... Jasper, Black Basalt and Queen's Ware. Today he is regarded as the "Father of English Potters", and in many ways was responsible for the huge pottery industry that developed not just in Staffordshire but in England.
Today Wedgwood is part of the WWRD (Wedgwood Waterford Royal Doulton) Group owned by Fiskars Corporation of Finland.
