Purbeck Pottery
Purbeck Pottery was established in 1966 when it first started producing stoneware pottery from it's factory in Westbourne, Dorset. For many years it produced a range of tableware and decorative pieces which were designed by Robert Jefferson, who was previously a designer for Poole Pottery. Philip Barnes joined the business in 1973 and was responsible for moving the factory to Hamworthy, Poole in 1996.
Today there is still a showroom on Poole Quay but sadly while Philip & Shelia Barnes still run this much loved family business, after 50 years of producing stoneware and pottery pieces, they have now ceased production of their own wares and instead retail an assortment of giftware from around the world.
