Laura Ashley
Laura Ashley tableware relates to tableware designed under the Laura Ashley brand, but manufactured by other potteries, usually well known quality potteries such as Johnson Brothers and Poole Pottery. Laura and her husband Bernard started out printing fabrics on their kitchen table in 1953. Their business grew from strength to strength, opening their first shop in the late 1960s and many more in the 1970s. Sadly Laura died in 1985, but Bernard continued to drive the business forward before his retirement in 1993. The company continues to thrive today.
NB Where a design has a backstamp denoting the pottery (i.e. where Laura Ashley provided the design for the pottery to retail themselves) it is listed under the respective pottery. Where it was retailed by Laura Ashley alone, it is listed here.
