Emma Bridgewater
Emma Bridgewater pottery is made in Stoke on Trent. A relatively modern brand for British pottery, having only been established in 1985, they are surprisingly one of the largest employers of potters in the area. The company started when Emma became frustrated looking for a birthday present for her mother, and couldn't find a cup and saucer which wasn't "too formal or too clunky". Recognising that there was a gap in the market she set up the business. Today she runs it alongside her husband Matthew, producing a wide range of tableware, accessories and giftware.
