Alfred Meakin

Alfred Meakin kann seine Wurzeln bis ins Jahr 1875 zurückverfolgen, als es erstmals von Alfred Meakin selbst gegründet wurde. Ursprünglich aus den Töpfereien Royal Albert, Victoria und Highgate in Tunstall stammend, erlebte das Unternehmen viele frühe Erfolge. Leider sahen weder Alfred, der 1904 verstarb, noch sein Sohn und Nachfolger Alfred James, der 1908 starb, viele davon. Alfred Johns Onkel, Robert Johnson, kaufte das Unternehmen für seinen Sohn Stuart, der die Fabrik 1930 zu Newfield Pottery verlegte. Das Unternehmen blieb bis 1976 in Familienbesitz, als es zu Myott-Meakin wurde und kurz darauf Teil der Churchill Group wurde.
