Whittard of Chelsea "At Christmas"

Whittard At Christmas is our collective name for the wide variety of seasonal tableware released by Whittard of Chelsea for Christmas over the years. Rather than representing one continuous pattern, the collection brings together individual festive ranges and year-specific designs, each with its own artwork, colours and character.

Whittard has produced Christmas tableware in many different styles, from playful illustrated scenes and winter characters to more traditional festive motifs. Some ranges were issued principally as mugs, while others extended into coordinating pieces such as teapots, milk jugs and sugar bowls.

Surviving examples show that Whittard was producing named Christmas collections by at least the early 2000s, including Cool Yule in 2002, Winter Wonderland in 2003 and several different festive designs in 2004. Individual pieces may carry a year, collection name or designer credit, making them particularly interesting to collectors as well as useful replacements for favourite seasonal tableware.

The designs can vary considerably from one Christmas to the next, so we identify the year and individual decoration wherever possible within each product listing. This also means pieces from different Whittard Christmas ranges can be browsed together while still retaining their own identity.

As many of these festive designs were produced for a limited season, individual pieces can become difficult to replace once they disappear from the shops. At MrPottery we bring them together under Whittard At Christmas to help you replace a much-loved Christmas mug, add to an existing festive set or simply find another piece of Whittard seasonal nostalgia.
