Wedgwood Susie Cooper Glen Mist was designed by Susie Cooper in 1960, before her pottery business was acquired by Wedgwood in 1966. The pattern features soft blue-grey poppy-like flowers with fine foliage detail, set against a white ground and framed by a misty blue border.
Glen Mist is a useful pattern to explain because it bridges two collecting areas. Earlier pieces were produced under Susie Cooper’s own name, while later pieces were made after the business became part of Wedgwood. These later examples are often described as Wedgwood Susie Cooper Design pieces, and may carry Wedgwood backstamps rather than earlier Susie Cooper marks.
For customer convenience, we list Glen Mist pieces together under one collection, but we identify pieces individually where the backstamp or production version is relevant. This means customers may see both pre-Wedgwood and Wedgwood-period pieces within the same MrPottery collection, rather than having to search across separate pages.
When matching Glen Mist, it is worth checking the backstamp, shape and colour tone as well as the pattern name. The overall design is consistent and very recognisable, but small differences can occur between earlier Susie Cooper examples and later Wedgwood production.
For many customers, Glen Mist is a pattern they are trying to keep in regular use. As a discontinued Susie Cooper and Wedgwood range, it is often sought out by those looking to replace a broken cup, find a missing saucer, or add plates, bowls and serving pieces to an existing set.
Availability depends entirely on what becomes available through the pre-loved market. Glen Mist remains popular with both everyday users and Susie Cooper collectors, so useful pieces can sell quickly when they come into stock.
