Wedgwood "Jasperware"
Wedgwood Jasperware, or Jasper Ware as it sometimes called, refers to a range of decorative ware from the Wedgwood pottery which has been in existence for almost as long as the pottery itself. Jasperware was first developed by Josiah Wedgwood himself in the 1770's. Opinions vary as to whether it is stoneware or porcelain, with it's matt, unglazed finish combined with a lightweight biscuit like feel. It is best known for the sky blue version, colloquially known as Wedgwood Blue. However, other colourways include Black, Dark Blue, Lilac, Sage Green and Yellow.
