Royal Worcester Red Peony is a discontinued porcelain range dating from the late 2000s. Pieces carry a 2007 copyright mark, while replacement records place the range in production around 2008 to 2009. Its decoration features large peony flowers, buds, leaves and trailing stems rendered almost entirely in a rich red against a clear white background.

The limited colour palette gives Red Peony a particularly strong and graphic appearance. Rather than using small repeating sprays, the design allows individual flowers and branches to spread freely across each piece, with different sections of the decoration appearing according to the shape and size of the item.

This works especially well on the larger tea and serving pieces. Teapots, milk jugs and lidded sugar bowls carry broad sections of the floral design around their curved bodies, while cups and plates use individual flowers and trailing foliage to create a lighter, more open effect.

Red Peony was produced as a comprehensive table and tea service, with known pieces including dinner and salad plates, bowls, cups and saucers, mugs, milk jugs, sugar bowls, serving pieces and a teapot. Related Royal Worcester Peony designs were also produced in other colourways, including black and blue.

As Royal Worcester Red Peony is now discontinued, replacement pieces are generally found through the pre-loved market. At MrPottery we organise our available stock by piece and condition to help you find the best possible match for an existing service.
