Royal Doulton "Bunnykins"

Royal Doulton Bunnykins was first introduced as nursery tableware in 1934, with rabbits dressed in human clothing and shown in colourful English village and countryside scenes. The original illustrations were by Sister Mary Barbara Bailey, born Barbara Vernon Bailey, whose father Cuthbert Bailey was Royal Doulton's general manager during the 1930s.

The Bunnykins name grew far beyond its early nursery ware origins. Royal Doulton introduced Bunnykins figurines in 1939, and later generations of artists added new scenes, characters and figures.
