Poole Pottery "Unknown 05A"

Poole Pottery Unknown 05A

Poole Pottery Unknown 05A is an unidentified Poole Pottery design with a wide mottled rim in plum, burgundy and smoky blue tones, surrounding a plain pale centre. 05A is our own reference, used so that customers can find and match pieces while the original factory name remains unknown.

Poole Pottery Unknown 05A is our own reference for a discontinued Poole design which we have not yet been able to positively identify. The pattern has a simple, striking appearance, with a broad mottled border in deep plum, burgundy and blue-grey shades, contrasted against a clean pale centre.

The reactive-looking rim gives each piece a softly varied character, with subtle differences in colour balance and mottling from one item to another. Its restrained centre and bold border make it feel quite different from Poole’s more familiar floral and illustrative tableware designs.

As with many less common discontinued Poole Pottery designs, availability is likely to vary depending on what becomes available through the pre-loved market. If you recognise this pattern or know its correct name, we would love to hear from you.
