Poole Pottery Twintone Lime Yellow & Seagull / Moonstone Grey is a useful grouping for two Poole Twintone colourways that share the same distinctive Lime Yellow glaze. The better-known version is Lime Yellow & Seagull, pattern code C103, while the earlier and much less common Lime Yellow & Moonstone Grey version is pattern code C102.

Lime Yellow & Moonstone Grey C102 was introduced in 1956 and appears to have been made for less than a year. It was quickly followed by Lime Yellow & Seagull C103, introduced in 1957, which proved the more successful combination and remained in production into the 1960s.

The appeal of these colourways lies in the contrast between the fresh, sharp Lime Yellow and the cooler grey companion glaze. Seagull has Poole’s familiar softly mottled grey appearance, while Moonstone Grey is much less often seen, making C102 of particular interest to Twintone collectors.

Customers looking for Poole Pottery Twintone Lime Yellow replacement china are often trying to replace a broken cup, saucer, plate or serving piece, complete a part service, or add one of the rarer Lime Yellow combinations to a collection. Availability can vary, as our stock depends on what becomes available through the pre-loved market.

When matching these pieces, check the pattern code, colour pairing, shape and glaze placement carefully. Lime Yellow may appear differently depending on the item, and the distinction between Seagull and Moonstone Grey is especially important if you are trying to match an existing set.
