Poole Pottery "Traditional Ware"
Poole Pottery Traditional Ware refers to a range of hand-painted pieces in a style introduced by Truda Carter in 1921. While production of these decorative pieces was halted during and immediately after the Second World War, due to restrictions on the use of colour, production was resumed and continued right up until the closure of the Poole studio in 2017. In later years 'Traditional' pieces were much more sparse in pattern and the background glaze much whiter than earlier pieces, making for a more cost effective and less time consuming piece to produce.
