Poole Pottery Ridgeway Brown is one of Poole’s quieter tableware designs, with a plain white or off-white body, softly fluted edging and a fine chocolate brown rim. The result is restrained and practical, with just enough detail to give the range a neat, finished appearance.
Ridgeway Brown was predominantly made for Debenhams, and sits slightly apart from some of Poole’s better known named tableware ranges. Its simplicity makes it an easy pattern to use every day, while the fluted detail gives the pieces a little more character than a completely plain service.
The design is also found in a grey-rimmed version, so customers replacing pieces should check the rim colour carefully before ordering. The brown version has a warmer feel, while the grey version gives the same shape a cooler, more neutral appearance.
For many customers, Ridgeway Brown is a pattern they are trying to keep in regular use. As a discontinued Poole range, it is often sought out by those looking to replace a broken plate, find a missing bowl, or add useful serving pieces to an existing set.
Availability depends entirely on what becomes available through the pre-loved market. Because Ridgeway Brown is not one of the Poole patterns we see every day, individual pieces may only appear from time to time.
