Poole Pottery Morocco was designed by Tony Morris and introduced in 1969. It was produced on Poole’s Contour shape, the same elegant shape used for the better known Desert Song range.
The design features a repeating blue border with stylised floral and scroll motifs, giving the pattern a decorative but still clean and graphic look. The use of blue on white gives Morocco a fresh appearance, while the rounded Contour shapes help soften the overall feel.
Morocco is less commonly seen than Desert Song, but the two ranges are closely connected through their shared shape family. Collectors of Poole’s late 1960s tableware often find Morocco interesting because it shows a different decorative approach on the same modern Contour forms.
For many customers, Morocco is a pattern they are trying to keep in regular use. As a discontinued Poole range, it is often sought out by those looking to replace a broken plate, find a missing bowl, or add useful extras to an existing set.
Availability depends entirely on what becomes available through the pre-loved market. As Morocco is not one of the Poole patterns we see every day, individual pieces may only appear from time to time.
