Poole Pottery Miranda was introduced in 2000 and was designed by Anita Harris. It belongs to Poole’s later tableware period, when the factory continued to produce softer, hand-decorated designs alongside more contemporary shapes and finishes.
The pattern features a broad pale green border, decorated with simple red petal shapes and green leaves. The decoration has an informal, hand-painted character, with a gentle rhythm around the rim of plates and serving pieces.
Miranda has a calmer feel than some of Anita Harris’s bolder Poole designs, using a muted green ground and small repeated motifs rather than large floral or fruit decoration. This makes it easy to live with, while still giving the range a distinctive Poole character.
For many customers, Miranda is a pattern they are trying to keep in regular use. As a discontinued Poole range, it is often sought out by those looking to replace a broken plate, find a missing bowl, or add useful serving pieces to an existing set.
Availability depends entirely on what becomes available through the pre-loved market. As with many hand-decorated Poole designs, small differences in colour strength, brushwork and decoration placement are part of the pattern’s character.
