Poole Pottery "Ferndown"

Poole Pottery Ferndown is one of Poole’s later discontinued tableware designs and is associated with the Campden collection. The Campden range formed part of Poole’s move towards more relaxed, informal tableware, with practical shapes and decorative patterns suited to everyday dining.

Ferndown has a detailed botanical character, with leafy green foliage, purple flowers and deeper burgundy flower heads arranged as a central design on plates and bowls. The green rim gives the pieces a neat finish and helps tie the natural colour palette together.

The pattern sits comfortably among Poole’s later country-inspired tableware, where flowers, fruit, herbs and garden motifs were used to create warm, approachable designs for the home. Ferndown feels more botanical than simple floral, with the plant illustration giving it a slightly more detailed and naturalistic look.
