Poole Pottery Daisy was part of Poole’s Campden collection, a later tableware shape associated with the factory’s move towards more relaxed and informal dining styles. The Campden range was designed by Robert Welch and was in production around the late 1980s and early 1990s.
Daisy is a bright and friendly floral design, with pink and mauve flowers, small yellow centres and green trailing foliage on a clean white ground. A fine green rim adds a neat finishing touch, helping to frame the decoration without making the pattern feel too formal.
There appear to be two shape versions of Poole Daisy. One version has more rounded, simpler shapes across plates, cups and serving ware. The other has a more distinctive shaped or scalloped edge to plates and bowls, with fluted sides to cups and some serving pieces. This shaped version may have been the earlier form, possibly intended to echo the daisy theme more closely, with the simpler version introduced later during the pattern’s production life.
Because of these shape variations, customers replacing Daisy pieces should check the shape as well as the pattern. A plate, bowl or cup may have the same floral decoration but a different edge or body shape, so it is worth comparing carefully before ordering if you are trying to match an existing set.
The design has an easy country kitchen feel and was produced across a useful selection of dinner ware, tea ware and coffee ware. The range also included oven-to-tableware pieces, making it practical for customers who wanted a coordinated service for both serving and everyday use.
For many customers, Daisy is a pattern they are trying to keep in regular use. As a discontinued Poole range, it is often sought out by those looking to replace a broken mug, find a missing plate, or add useful serving and oven-to-table pieces to an existing set.
Availability depends entirely on what becomes available through the pre-loved market. As with many discontinued Poole designs, some pieces appear more often than others, while matching by both decoration and shape can be important with this particular pattern.
