Poole Pottery "Bramble"

Poole Pottery Bramble is an attractive fruit and foliage design produced on Poole’s Compact shape. The pattern uses a Lakestone glaze background, giving the pieces a soft neutral base which suits the natural blackberry decoration particularly well.

The design features sprays of bramble leaves, stems and dark berries arranged around the border of the pieces. The colouring is warm and understated, with muted greens, brown stems and rich blackberry tones creating a relaxed country look without feeling overly busy.

The Compact shape was designed by Robert Jefferson and became one of Poole’s important modern tableware shapes. Bramble’s decorative border works well on this form, especially on plates where the central area remains open and the fruiting bramble design sits around the rim.
