Johnson Brothers Tulip Time was produced from the early 1960s into the late 1970s and is one of the company’s attractive Dutch-inspired scenic designs. The pattern features blue transfer scenes of waterside villages, windmills, boats and figures, framed by floral border decoration on softly shaped pieces.

The Johnson Brothers reference book records Tulip Time in more than one colour version, including blue on white, blue on blue and brown multicolour. The blue versions are the most familiar, and the blue on blue pieces have a particularly atmospheric look, with the scene and body colour working together to give the pattern its Delftware character.

For customers looking to replace a platter, add extra bowls, find cups and saucers, or build up a collectable scenic service, Tulip Time is a distinctive discontinued Johnson Brothers pattern. Because different colour versions and body tones exist, it is worth checking the background colour, backstamp, shape and scene carefully when matching pieces.

As with all discontinued Johnson Brothers tableware, availability varies by piece. If you are trying to complete, extend or carefully match an existing Tulip Time set, please check our current stock regularly as individual pre-loved pieces become available.
