John Lewis "ANYDAY Eat"

John Lewis ANYDAY Eat is a practical white porcelain tableware range formerly sold under the John Lewis ANYDAY name. With no printed decoration or coloured trim, the design relies on simple contemporary shapes and a glossy white finish for its clean, versatile appearance.

The mugs have a tall, gently tapered profile with a smooth curved handle, giving them a modern but unfussy look. The same straightforward approach continues across the rest of the range, making Eat particularly easy to combine with other plain white tableware.

Eat was produced as considerably more than a mug range. Known pieces include dinner and side plates, cereal and pasta bowls, mugs and a variety of serving ware, including a gravy boat, oval platter, square serving dish and round vegetable serving dish. Twelve-piece dinner sets were also sold, confirming Eat as a coordinated everyday table service rather than simply a collection of individual kitchen basics.

The range appears to have been produced predominantly in white porcelain, and we have not found reliable evidence of alternative colourways for this particular Eat design. Its deliberately neutral appearance was part of its appeal, providing durable, straightforward tableware intended for regular everyday use.
