Denby Shiraz was introduced in 1993 and designed by So Yin Ching, standing apart from many Denby patterns of the time with its deep plum coloured glaze and vibrant decorative bands. These bands feature a repeating geometric diamond motif in green, yellow, purple and red, bringing a strong sense of colour and contrast to the design.

Produced for a relatively short period during the 1990s, Shiraz combines Denby’s durable stoneware with a high gloss finish and crisp white interiors on many pieces, creating a balance between bold exterior decoration and practical everyday use.

The range was made in a variety of tableware and serving pieces, though like many shorter production runs, some items can now be harder to source. Larger serving pieces, particularly platters, are especially sought after by collectors and those looking to complete a set.

As a now discontinued pattern, Denby Shiraz remains popular with those looking for replacement china to complete or extend an existing collection. Availability can vary depending on the piece, as supply is dependent on what becomes available in the pre-loved market.
