Denby Ode is one of the most instantly recognisable designs produced by Denby Pottery, distinguished by its bold antique gold and white Greek Key decoration. The pattern was created using a sgraffito technique, giving it a crisp and highly individual appearance that stands apart from more conventional transfer printed designs.

Produced during the 1960s, Ode proved to be one of Denby’s most successful and ambitious ranges of the period. The design was made across an extensive selection of pieces, including a full dinner service, tea and coffee ware, cookware and serving pieces, making it a substantial and versatile collection for the table and kitchen.

Its popularity extended beyond the UK, and the range was awarded a Gold Medal for Excellence at the California State Fair in the USA, underlining the impact of Denby’s more adventurous design work during this era.

As a now discontinued pattern, Denby Ode remains highly sought after by those looking for replacement china to complete or extend an existing set, as well as by collectors drawn to its strong mid century character. Availability can vary depending on the piece, with some of the larger and more unusual items proving especially hard to find.
