Denby Miscellaneous Mugs is a collection of mugs and tankards that sit outside Denby’s main named ranges. These include one off designs, small production runs, commissioned pieces and occasional promotional or advertising ware.
Denby were particularly prolific in their production of mugs during the late 1970s and 1980s, following the opening of their in house silk screen workshop in 1977 under the supervision of Tony Richardson. This allowed the company to produce its own transfer printed designs, leading to a wide variety of themed and decorative mugs.
Alongside these later pieces, the collection may also include earlier hand decorated examples, including work associated with designers such as Glyn Colledge. These mugs often feature more painterly decoration and can vary slightly from piece to piece, reflecting their handcrafted nature.
While many mugs were originally part of larger series, which are listed separately within our main Denby category, others were produced as standalone designs. These more unusual pieces are grouped here, offering a mix of styles that may appeal to both collectors and those looking for something a little different.
Availability can vary significantly depending on what becomes available in the pre loved market, with some designs appearing only occasionally.
