Denby Marrakesh was introduced in 1992 as part of a group of designs created on Denby’s Sovereign shape. Designed by Claire Bernard, the pattern combines a clean white centre with a distinctive mosaic style border made up of geometric shapes in a range of rich colours.

During development, the design was referred to as Mosaic by the design team, reflecting the decorative border that gives the range its character. The contrast between the bright, smooth white glaze of the flatware and the darker, textured sand coloured finish used on taller pieces and the reverse of plates creates a bold and balanced overall look.

The Sovereign shape itself brought a more contemporary feel to Denby’s tableware, with clean lines and a refined profile that complements the structured decoration of the pattern.

Marrakesh proved to be a very popular range and remained in production into the late 1990s. Today it continues to be widely collected, particularly by those looking to replace well used everyday pieces or complete existing sets. Availability can vary depending on the item, with plates and bowls in Excellent condition often in high demand, and mugs typically proving especially sought after.
