Denby Encore

Denby Encore is a popular late 1980s design, introduced in 1988 on Denby’s Sherwood shape. Featuring a delicate sweetpea-style floral pattern, it combines soft decoration with the practical, gently curved forms typical of the Sherwood range.

Introduced in 1988, Denby Encore was produced on the Sherwood shape, known for its softer curves and versatility for everyday use. The design features a light, sweetpea-style floral motif, giving the range a gentle and decorative feel.

Encore is closely related to Denby Dauphine, which shares the same colourway and overall design. However, Dauphine was produced on an earlier shape with straighter sides and a lighter-weight body, making the two patterns distinct despite their visual similarity.

The Sherwood shape gives Encore a slightly more substantial feel, with rounded forms that were characteristic of Denby’s tableware during the late 1980s.

Produced until the mid-1990s, Encore remains a popular discontinued pattern, particularly for those looking to replace pieces from an existing set or extend a collection.

As with many discontinued Denby designs, availability can vary depending on the piece, as supply is dependent on what becomes available on the pre-loved market.
