This tankard was by renowned Denby designer Glyn Colledge is hand-painted and bears Glyn's signature on the base.
While the design itself is a lovely example of his work (often referred to a Glynware), it does have a lot of paint splashes and smudges within the glaze suggesting there may have been an issue in it's production. In modern day terms it would be regarded as a second, hence the low price for this item.
Nevertheless, it makes for a lovely rustic and unique stoneware tankard.
