Denby "Chevron"

Denby Chevron is one of the most important designs in Denby’s history, introduced in 1961/62 and designed by Gill Pemberton as a striking move towards a more modern and architectural style.

Chevron represented a clear departure from the rounded, highly glazed shapes of earlier Denby designs. With its straight and sloping edges, contrasting matt exteriors and highly glazed egg-shell white interiors, it introduced a more structured and contemporary feel to the range.
The pattern’s distinctive military green colourway, combined with its angular forms, gave it a bold and unusual character that set it apart from more traditional tableware of the period. It remains one of Denby’s most recognisable and influential mid-century designs.
Produced over a long period and across a wide variety of shapes, Denby Chevron offers plenty of interest to collectors. Particularly sought-after pieces include the metal-handled teapot, mugs and the celery dish, while dinner plates in excellent condition can be especially difficult to find.
As a now discontinued pattern, Denby Chevron remains highly sought after by collectors and by those looking for replacement china to complete or extend their existing set. Availability can vary depending on the piece, as supply is dependent on what becomes available in the pre-loved market.
We regularly source Denby Chevron from the pre-loved market, so availability changes frequently.
