Branksome China

Branksome China
Branksome China , was established in 1945, by founder Ernest Baggaley. A Stoke-On-Trent potter, Ernest knew that post war pottery needed to be different and of a better quality than wares seen before, to justify the higher prices they would have to charge to cover gas-fired production in post-war Britain. He developed a new method of porcelain craft, producing light and fine china which was still durable for everyday use. Branksome China's two-tone designs became instantly recognisable (although are often confused with Poole Pottery's Twintones), and are still bought today, by collectors and owners around the world. While the pottery was based in Dorset for most of it's life, it has recently moved to Stoke-on-Trent.
